Is Chains free?
Yes. Everything on Chains is free to use right now.
Who can see my posts?
Any signed-in Chains member, unless you've blocked or been blocked by them. There's no public feed for people outside Chains.
What's the difference between following and being friends?
Following is one-directional and doesn't need approval. Friends is mutual - you send a request, they accept, and you both show up in each other's friends list. You can follow someone without being friends, or be friends without following.
How do I remove a friend?
Open Friends, find them in "Your friends," and choose Remove. It only removes the connection - nothing they've posted is affected.
How do mentions work?
Type @ followed by someone's username in a post or comment. They'll get notified, and the mention links to a search for their profile.
Can I edit a post after publishing it?
Yes, for text. Photos and video on a post can't be swapped after it's live - delete and repost if you need to change the media.
How long can a Vine be?
Up to 60 seconds.
Can I change my username?
Yes, from your Profile page. Usernames are case-insensitive and have to be unique.
What happens when I report someone or something?
It goes to the founder for review - see the Safety page for the full flow, including blocking and appeals.
Is there a dark mode?
Dark is the default look. Switch to light from Settings, linked off your Profile page.
How do I invite someone to Chains?
Share your personal link from the Friends page - it's tied to your account, so you can see how many people have joined from it.
