Using Chains
A quick guide to what's on Chains right now and how to get the most out of it.
Your profile
Add a profile photo and banner (with crop and zoom), your bio, location, occupation, school, interests and a favourite quote from Settings on your Profile page. The more you fill in, the more Chains can find people who overlap with you.
Posts, photos and Vines
Share text, up to 4 photos, or one short video ("Vine") from the Feed. Photos can be cropped and zoomed before posting. Like, comment, repost, or share a link to any post - and edit or delete your own posts any time.
Friends and following
Search for people or browse recommendations on the Friends page, including a dedicated "Similar interests" view. Sending a friend request and following someone are separate - you can follow without being friends, and unfriend from your friends list if a connection no longer makes sense.
Messages
One-to-one chats live under Messages. Pick a chat theme or upload your own background photo from any conversation.
Goals
Track what you're working towards on your profile's Goals tab - give a goal a category, break it into steps, and Chains works out your progress automatically. Finished goals move into their own Completed section.
Notifications
You'll get a ping for friend requests, follows, mentions, likes, comments, reposts and messages. Turn on browser notifications from the Notifications page to get them even when Chains isn't open.
Badges
Badges like OG Member, Founder and Developer show up on profiles and posts. Click any badge to see everyone else who has it.
